Oct 2011: Under
the Spotlight extends its international reach even further, with
even more countries participating in 2011! 2011 sees the
addition of several new countries to the Under the Spotlight
program, widening the reach of the Under the Spotlight campaign
across the Atlantic and further uniting the global voice of
psoriasis sufferers. The new countries include Mexico, Argentina
and Turkey.
Silvia Fernandez Barrio, President of LATINAPSO regards the growth
of Under the Spotlight into a worldwide program as an important
step.
"It means integration, a very important word for people with
psoriasis. Under the Spotlight integrates people from all
over the world and brings attention on how the disease is suffered
all over no matter whether you live in France, Sweden, South
Africa, México or Argentina... It shows so deeply how it
impacts a person, the whole family. Spotlighters are showing
their utmost soul and telling how much this undertreated,
stigmatizing, discriminating disease changes their everyday life.
It is finally bringing the hidden people out."
"I feel Under the Spotlight is the biggest step that has ever been
given to attract attention on psoriasis... Even though we fight
everyday for the rights of these patients, shooting UTS makes you
build your votes and compromise to fight for the changes so much
needed... What we need now is the participation of more countries
so that we feel proud to be fighting for the same goal!"
You can watch the new countries' 'Spotlighter' films when they are
launched on Word Psoriasis Day 2011, Saturday 29
October.
